Week 14: Challenge Project/ color glazing - Make sure to have 6 layers added to the monochromatic painting: For this week we were supposed to make sure we have 6 layers on our painting, it may not look like I have 6 layers, but I do. In this photo you can see I have purple and pink as the bottom layer and then I have the splatter paint as the stars and I kept doing more pink and purple and adding more layers until the final layer in this photo is the moon.
Week 13: Challenge Project/color glazing - Apply two different colored glazes to the monochromatic painting: For this week we were supposed to add two different colors to our monochromatic painting, as you can see I started off with the base. I added the purple and pink in different shades as the background. I also added the stars, aka splatter paint to the purple part. Also you can see my reference photo in color.
Week 12: Challenge project/color glazing - Finish 100% of the monochromatic painting: For this week we were supposed to finish 100% of our monochromatic in black and white. It is a start of a sky with a moon and clouds. What I especially like about this photo is that it's very colorful. Also you will see my reference photo in black and white. I was really inspired by this photo because it reminds me of happiness and peace.
Week 5: Stain Study - Finish stain study: For this week the assignment was to finish our stain study and be ready for the final critique. I decided to add pen to make the darker spots more noticeable I also added more water color to make certain spots on the blueberry's darker.
Week 4: Stain Study - Play with washes: For this week the assignment was to continue playing with washes. Since I already played with some washes last week I decided to go with watercolor paint.
Week 3: Stain Study - Sketch + Wash Sample: For this week we were supposed to finish our light sketch and play with different washes. I decided to paint this piece with blueberries blended with water, some of the colors are darker because I had less water and more blueberries and some of the colors are lighter because I had more water and less blueberries.
Week 2: Stain Study - Sketch: For this week we were assigned to lightly sketch an image from an inspiration photo. I wanted to do a fruit so I picked blueberries. Down below you'll see my sketch of the blueberries and the photo I was inspired by.
Favorite color painting: For this assignment we were supposed to paint something with our favorite color, my favorite color is blue. I decided to paint a mix of different shades of blue because I couldn't pick which shade was my favorite. This project was just a fun way to start this class especially with the class being over zoom.
