It was a challenge working with my group because I didn’t know how to do a lot of things in the maker-space and they did know how and so I felt like they did a lot of the actual building and I did more of the planning. Another challenge I encountered was that my group mates would come into class with the attitude that they didn’t want to do work for that specific day and it was just frustrating. I had a fun time working with them on the table and we actually finished it which was good. I thought that working with them we wouldn’t finish because I thought I would be stuck doing all the work, but I am really proud of myself and them for finishing the table. One thing I learned from this was how to make a drawing and plan out for building something. It helps a lot if you start out with a drawing rather than just going straight to building, we did a lot of planning for this table. We started out with measurements and drawings and then made a supply list and found out the total cost to make this table. After we did all the planning things we needed to do we could actually get to building the table. My dad owns a trim company and he has a big shop at our house, I told him about the table we were building and he asked what we were using for the top part of the table and I told him we were using a thin piece of plywood. He told me that he has an extra piece of butcher block that was beautiful and would make our table look even better. I asked Farkas if that would be helpful and he told me to bring it in. I brought it in and it made our table look more professional than it would have looked if I used the plywood. Something I would change if we did this project again is making an even better drawing and making sure I have group members that will put in equal effort. Another thing I would change is the way that we attached the legs onto the piece of butcher block, it was a struggle the way we did it and we tried to do it many times.
